Hey guys! Today, I am going to share some tips on how to save on your auto insurance. Right now, insurance carriers across the nation are hiking up premiums due to 3 things:

  • Increase in car prices
  • Increase in repair costs (parts and labor)
  • Increase in bodily injury claims

What does that mean for you? Rate increases are being passed down to the consumers, thus resulting in an increase on your premiums. Thankfully, there are ways to try to keep the rate hikes to a minimum.

Here are my tips to try to save on your auto insurance!

My first tip is to take the time to do a 6-hour online defensive driving course. They tend to be cheap and give you a discount for 3 years.

My second tip is if you own a house or rent, a multi-policy discount could help you save on both policies. I highly recommend this for your maximum savings. My agency writes with several companies that do a multi-line discount.

My third tip is to evaluate your coverage. I always like to look at your deductibles first. Is your car paid off? You may want to either raise your deductibles to save on your policy or even take comprehensive and collision off all together, especially collision.

My fourth tip is to shop your policy. You can do this the hard way and call all the insurance carriers you could think of, or you can contact one broker who can go through several carriers at once.
